KCRCC: Resist via the vote
Two things. First, the Second Amendment is now more sacrosanct in American society among Trump Republicans than anything in the Bible, including the 10 Commandments. It used to be “nothing superceded the Bible.” Now, ironically, the Second Amendment has done exactly that.
Second, Kootenai County has resisted the infiltration by certain self-interested political groups in the past. The Church of Jesus Christ Christian Aryan Nations comes to mind. Butler and his followers ran for any local or state elective office in Hayden, the county sheriff’s office, local state representative and senate positions in the Idaho Legislature, Secretary of State, and the governorship, all without success.
Much like the Aryan Nations, the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee is becoming much more active infiltrating the same offices and positions but also including K-12 school boards, the North Idaho College Board of Trustees, library boards, the Kootenai Health Hospital Board, the Sewer District Board, the Water District Board, the Highway District Board, the list goes on. It’s a bad idea whose time has come.
Resistance to the KCRCC can take many forms. Right now the vote is the strongest message a resister can register.
