DMV: We must do better

I recently had the “pleasure” of needing to make a visit to the DMV. I knew to make an appointment, but what about the seniors who know nothing about computers, and do not have the know how to make an appointment?

A gentleman sitting near me had been there since 8:45 a.m. and it was almost 2 p.m. at that time! He did have someone help him sign in at the kiosk but he was still ninth in line when I left.

Come on! Most of the problem is only four clerks working with that many people waiting. I know things got way behind with the pandemic, but I did see several employees coming and going from the back offices. Why not bring some of them out to fill the empty stations or hire some new clerks?

I was born and raised in North Idaho and never in my wildest dreams did I see this influx of newcomers and we don’t have the means to handle it.
