Notable calls for the day!

04-14-21

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy arrested a male for a PV warrant from KCAMP.

• Deputies responded to Mission Rd. in the area of the Cataldo Mission for a report of 2 people fornicating in a vehicle, causing a scene in plain view. Upon arrival, a male and female were contacted at their vehicle. Both stated they were transients from the Spokane area. One occupant was arrested for a Grand theft warrant out of Kootenai County, as well as an additional warrant out of Shoshone Co. Both were warned for disturbing the peace. A report was completed.

• Deputies responded to a call at the casino, reference a welfare check. Casino Security responded to a room after it was found locked from the inside after the renter was supposed to be checked out. After Security breached the door, they found two occupants unresponsive in bed. They were surrounded with drug paraphernalia. Medical was not called to the scene. When Deputies arrived, they were able to wake up both males. Once alert, the situation was explained to both parties who consented to a search of the room. Deputies located almost 2 gms of heroin, as well a lot of drug paraphernalia. One of the occupants took ownership of the bag of heroin and was arrested. The other occupant was cited and released for para. 21-15292

• A CSO responded to Empire Airlines for a theft. The business noticed some odd account activity after learning that only one of 42 checks sent out on 03-15-21 were ever cashed. After doing some research, it was learned that the cashed check was manipulated and cashed. None of the other checks have been accounted for.

• A Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a careless driver in the area of HWY 41 X Mullan after it appeared the vehicle was going to crash. The investigation was taken over by SIU Detectives which resulted in a warrant arrest, seizure of drugs and paraphernalia, and the return of a vehicle that was going to be reported as stolen to Spokane.

• Deputies responded to a report of a male being highly intoxicated and aggressive towards his mother again. Upon initial contact with mom, it was determined that no crimes were committed and further LE contact with the male would only create more issues. Approximately 2 hrs. later, mom called again, stating the male had left the residence by vehicle. He was able to return home prior to LE locating him. Mom would not place him under citizen's arrest for DUI and there were no other witnesses. The male was encouraged to go to KH for an eval. He was transported for a Voluntary hold for treatment.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to the area of the Boathouse Restaurant (on Hayden Lake) reference runaway subject. While investigating the Runaway violation, a Deputy located drugs on the juvenile. He was arrested for possession.

• Deputies responded to a Suicide Attempt. While enroute to the scene one of the updates was the male was trying to get his wife to shoot him and when she wouldn't, he took the gun and fired it towards himself shooting out a window stating something to the effect of "If you won't then I'll get the cops to do it." Units got into the area and ensured the safety of the wife and children. A tactical plan was set and eventually a Deputy on the Crisis Negotiation Team was able to establish telephone contact with the male who at this point was down on the BNSF tracks. Through continuous and diligent conversation with the male, the Deputy was able to build a rapport with the male and talked him into coming out of the woods to the Deputies and go to KH for an Involuntary Hold.

• A Deputy responded to a Suspicious. A female had just gotten out of jail and was afraid to go into the location to get her things. The location is considered a "flop house" and she was advised she has the right to her things if she wants to. She did not request any further assistant.

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to the area of Riverview Dr. and Marion Ct. for an injury crash. While Deputies were en-route, the reporting party advised a Nissan pickup had struck a tree. The passenger suffered a laceration above his eye that needed stitches. The driver fled the scene on foot and was unable to be located however has been identified. 21-15363

• Deputies responded to Showgirls for an unwanted/battery report. The business called in and advised a male was intoxicated and inappropriately touched a dancer. The dancer did not want to pursue charges, and the male was asked to leave the property. 21-15364

Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy handled a two-vehicle collision on Bunco Road near Lewellen Creek Road, where an Ace Drywall truck ran into a parked Lakes Highway District truck (21-15373).

• Deputies responded to a Psychological call. An R/P reported her daughter was not handling her new medications well and hadn't slept all night. A Deputy transported the female to the Crisis Center (21-15377).

• Deputies responded to a Cardiac Call. An R/P had discovered her mother was unconscious and not breathing. Nothing suspicious was noted.

• SIU Detectives located a male and female at Hauser Smoke Shop. The female was arrested for two FTA-Fail to Turn into the Jail warrants; however, she was on furlough from the PSB in order to deliver her baby. Since having the baby, the female has been using Fentanyl and developed some medical issues and had to be taken to Kootenai Health. KH decided the female was sick enough to be admitted. Once released from the Hospital she will be returned to the jail.

• A Deputy located a single vehicle collision at Prairie Avenue and Pleasant View Road (21-15414).

• Deputies responded to assist with a 6 person fight at the casino. One person fled from CDATPD but was caught soon after. It was learned that the parties were tribal members so they took primary.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded for a Welfare Check in the area of Fernan Lake Rd. approx. mm 9 reference a Suicidal person. The person was located but denied being suicidal, however there were cut marks etc. on her arms. Due to this evidence, A Deputy placed the female on an Involuntary Hold and transported her to KH. While at KH she told staff she needed to use the restroom. While in the restroom she kicked the toilet repeatedly until the water began to flood the restroom. She will also be charged with malicious injury to property. 21-15465

• Deputies responded to a reported Family Dispute. An out of state 3rd party caller called 911 advising his wife was trying to control their 34 year old intoxicated daughter. Once units arrived on scene, the daughter had passed out and was no longer a L.E. issue.

• Deputies responded to a Citizen Dispute. The R/P stated their neighbor was banging on the RP's door, and yelling and cursing at her. While units were enrt the neighbor went back home to her house. On scene units determined neighbor had trespassed at the above address. When the Deputy went to trespass the neighbor, she would not open the door, so he announced through the front door that she was trespassed from the above locations. 21-15491

• A Deputy responded to Pleasantview Rd. reference a Warrant Service. On scene he arrested a female for her warrant. 21-15500

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy checked out with a suspicious vehicle at Higgins Point. He contacted two juveniles. Their parents/guardians were contacted and it was learned that the juveniles did not have permission to be at the house. The parents came and picked up the juveniles. The male was cited for failure to obey by his driving instructor permit. 21-15515

• Deputies responded to the E/B Huetter rest stop for a citizen dispute. A male from Oregon advised his grandfather locked him out of the camper and truck and would not allow him in. The investigation revealed the male suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and was having an episode. His grandparents were contacted and they advised the male was needing medication and getting agitated and was told to take a walk to calm down. They were on their way to Montana for his medication. The male wanted to go to the crisis center for assistance. He was given a courtesy transport. 21-15516
