NIC ROUNDUP: Strong second half sends Cardinals past Blue Mountain

MEN'S BASKETBALL

PENDLETON, Ore. — Delveion Jackson, a sophomore from Centennial High in Boise, had 14 points and 22 rebounds for North Idaho College, which outscored Blue Mountain 48-29 in the second half on the way to an 88-73 win in Northwest Athletic Conference play on Friday.

NIC (3-0, 3-0 NWAC) trailed 44-40 at halftime, but was spurred on by Brendan Johnson, who scored 16 of his team-high 19 points in the second half.

Jacob James, a freshman from Timberlake High, had 15 points and two rebounds for Blue Mountain (0-3, 0-3). Cesar Ortiz scored a game-high 22 points off the bench for the Timberwolves.

Julius Mims had 16 points and 10 rebounds for NIC, which visits Walla Walla on Tuesday.
