PROTEST: Press misrepresented story

It’s unfortunate that the newspaper decided to go with such an inflammatory headline referring to Monday’s protest as Anti-Maskers. It was a nice little story full of heroes, victims and villains but chose to misrepresent the truth.

I was in attendance that day and heard a much different and full story to what found its way to print. It’s not about the masks. Masks are just the most visible representation of the school board’s year-long oppressive reigns over our children. They have been segregated, neglected and locked behind masks. No governing body in the county has maintained its restrictions as long as CDA 271.

Enough is enough. No more kicking the can down the road. It’s time to give the kids and teachers the respect and freedom of choice they all deserve.
