PARENT: Mask protest complaints

| April 16, 2021 1:00 AM

“Anti-maskers show up…” article published in The Press on April 13. I am responding to a few things in the article to clarify since my name was used.

I find it disturbing that the reporter, Devin Weeks at The Press, acknowledged my point that I reiterated to her in a separate email after a phone call and an in-person interview, but failed to include that information in the article.

The focus seemed to be on the school offering my daughter a water, yogurt and a cheese stick since she was not allowed outside the room she was put in during last Friday’s peaceful mask protest at the CDA HS. THE POINT WAS THE CDA H.S. PRINCIPAL TOLD MY DAUGHTER, WHEN MY DAUGHTER ASKED IF SHE COULD BE TAUGHT, the answer was NO!

And contrary to the Asst. Principal stating she was the only one protesting, he obviously had his eyes closed throughout the day because there are plenty of pics of students in classes without masks or masks worn incorrectly. She was just the only one courageous enough to walk into the building without a mask and immediately got stopped by Libby Barrett.

In addition, her P.E. teacher was the only one who gave her worksheets for schoolwork. Yes they use Schoology, but that doesn’t have teacher’s teaching, discussing, nor did she have someone in the room to help with work or answer questions if help was needed. UNDERSTAND, SHE WAS DENIED BEING TAUGHT. I heard the recording.
