OUR TOWN: Glad to be back

| April 16, 2021 1:00 AM

How great to live in the “gem” of the Pacific Northwest.

Growing up in Spokane and so eager to leave as a college graduate from WSU, I finally got back here to what my dad called “God’s Country.” Dad was a graduate of Gonzaga University and lived in the Pacific NW just shy of 90 years. Hey, now I am back!

One of the many things I like about “our town” is the generosity and “gogive” spirit of the residents. I loved reading in Saturday’s Coeur d’Alene Press about the Idaho Street Thug barber who gave of his time and expertise to perform hair services to the homeless. The multiple generosities and pay it forward opportunities warm the heart.

Feeling down and depressed? It’s OK to put a splash of lipstick on and get out of the pajama bottoms. If you look good, you will feel good and spreading the contagion of a kind word, a smile, or a helping hand will definitely get you feeling better.
