Boy gets his bird

Kain Kelly of Post Falls didn't take long to get his first turkey after receiving the green light to go after a gobbler.
The youth performed hours of online hunter safety over spring break and obtained his license April 8 — Fish and Game allowed him to get his license since his birthday is in May.
Two days later, the 9-year-old, armed with a .410 and joined by his grandfather, Allen Kelly, headed into Kootenai County's wilderness in his first hunting venture.
He had never shot anything before, but given the chance for a tom turkey, he didn't hesitate — and he didn't miss.
His mom, Heidi Kelly, said the family is proud of him.
