Janice Elaine Miller, 85

| April 14, 2021 1:00 AM

Janice Elaine Miller, age 85, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, entered into Jesus’s arms quietly on Easter morning, April 4, 2021.

She leaves her husband, Leo; three children: Brian (wife, Tammy), Dusty (wife, Sandy) and Pam (husband, Mike); eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Janice was born to Perry and Judith Larkin on March 14, 1936, in Genesee, Idaho. She married Leo Miller on Aug. 30, 1956.

Janice was a registered nurse and worked at Deaconess in Spokane and at Humana Hospital Emergency Room in Anchorage, Alaska, as well as in several private practices in Coeur d’Alene and Anchorage.

Jan and Leo moved to Anchorage in June of 1974 and then to Sterling, Alaska, where they lived until June of 2004, when they moved back to Dalton Gardens.

Janice’s loves were fishing, cooking, being with her grandkids and sewing. Many times she would out-fish men twice her size. Her catches included a 70 pound king salmon and 50 pound halibut. Jan was an expert seamstress as well as a world-class cook and would always host the family’s holiday events. Always in style and grace, Jan looked ever-sharp wherever she went.

Jan is now free from pain and the ills of this world. Her savior met her at heaven’s gates on Easter morning, as well as her family and friends that have passed before her. We love you Mom!
