CITIZENS: Alert to tax districts

Thank you for Thursday’s article about the Kootenai Hospital District. There is an important point I would like to emphasize, however. I believe the current board felt they could change their rules moments before a public election without comment because there are virtually no members of the public that observe their board meetings.

I urge all citizens to attend the board meetings of the various taxing districts. Representative democracy cannot thrive without the sunlight of an observant citizenry.
