Carol L. Stott, 73

| April 14, 2021 1:00 AM

Carol L. Stott, 73, Trellis Lady of Dalton Gardens, passed away at home where she wanted to be on April 10, 2021. Our mom was born April 18, 1947, to Emil and Ruth (Caspen) Barnes in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was the baby of the family and life was perfect in her eyes until her little brother, Billy Willy Morris Capellen was born. They did become very close when they got older.

Carol married Dennis R. Stott on June 5, 1976, and they enjoyed many years of buying and fixing up rentals, fishing at Carlin Bay and gambling, before he passed in 2003. After Denny passed she filled her days with garage sales, gardening, building garden trellises, and refurbishing junk, making it look great and functional again. She was quite handy with power tools and only had a few partial missing digits.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Denny; her mother, Ruth; brothers, Edward Barnes and Bill Capellen; sisters, Mary and Irene; and so many more.

She is survived by her family who will miss her stubborn, yet always loving ways- Blue, the baby and most favorite kid and constant companion for the last several years; daughter, Raynae Webb (Steve); granddaughter, Brittney Webb; grandsons, Travis Webb (Katy) and Ty Webb; four great-grands: Taylor, Alec, Brayden and Kane; son, Ray Duff (Destiny); granddaughters, Molly and Chloe; honorary daughter, Lillie (Astra); and too many friends to name but a few very special ones, Quinn and family and Kim; her step-kids, Gary Stott and children, Dustin, Heidi and Tiffany; Jeff Farmer (Gina) and children, Pat, Jackie, Chris and Jess, and their children. She is also survived by one sister, Sharon Belanger of Butte, Mont. and one brother, Kent Barnes of Hayden, Idaho.

Our mom lived a full life; never one to give up, even trying to kick cancer square in the butt. She was so strong. She had a wicked sense of humor and, even though she could be a pill, she loved so, so deeply. We know you are enjoying your party in heaven and that casino that never takes your money. Mom, you will be missed so much. Until we see you again. I love you Mom.

A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Yates Funeral Home – Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, with a viewing at 1 p.m. Carol will be laid to rest at Forest Cemetery, next to Denny. A gathering will be held at daughter, Raynae’s home, following the graveside.
