LATE SATURDAY

Coeur d’Alene 7

Moscow 6

COEUR d’ALENE — Kaydence Constable homered, Kristine Schmidt pitched effectively in relief and the host Vikings rallied from a 5-1 deficit to beat the Bears in Inland Empire League play Saturday at Larry Schwenke Field.

Schmidt came on in the second inning and allowed just one run the rest of the way for Coeur d’Alene (4-8, 4-4 IEL). Constable led off the fourth with a homer to pull the Vikings within 5-4.

In the fifth, Catherine Bakken hit a two-run double to put Coeur d’Alene ahead, and she then scored on a single by Ally Moehring.

“Kaydence probably had the best game she’s had; she threw a runner out … “ Coeur d’Alene coach Bobbi Darretta said. “Schmidt shut them down, and we bounced back.”

Coeur d’Alene plays host to Post Falls on Wednesday in a doubleheader.
