PREP SOFTBALL: T-Wolves' Schultze fans 14
COEUR d’ALENE — Phoebe Schultze struck out 14 and Hope Bodak and Abby Jankay drove in three runs each as the Lake City Timberwolves blanked the Moscow Bears 17-0 on Saturday in Inland Empire League play.
Bodak hit two doubles for Lake City (5-4, 5-4 IEL), including a bases-clearing two-bagger in an eight-run third inning. She finished 2 for 4 and scored twice. Jankay doubled and tripled and finished 3 for 4 with 2 runs.
Abby Gray was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs for the T-Wolves, and Austin Hill was 2 for 2 with two RBIs and three runs.
“What a weird weather day in North Idaho,” Lake City coach Jesse Lenz said. “I think we saw all the weather we could in one day. I am really proud of my team’s effort, and I think we are gearing up for some good things to come.”
Lake City plays at Sandpoint on Tuesday.

POST FALLS — Inland Empire League-leading Lewiston launched six home runs in the first game and three more in the nightcap, and went to sweep the host Trojans.
Taryn Barney and Evanna Douglass each hit two homers and drove in four runs for the Bengals in the opener.
Kailey Cramer went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs for Post Falls (4-4, 4-4).
McKenna Moak homered for the Trojans in the second game.
Post Falls travels to Coeur d’Alene on Wednesday for a doubleheader.
