NIC SOCCER: Fast start dooms Cardinal women in opener

COEUR d’ALENE — The Community Colleges of Spokane scored three goals in the first eight minutes to hold off North Idaho College 3-0 in a nonconference match between the Northwest Athletic Conference foes at Eisenwinter Field on Saturday afternoon.

It was the spring opener for NIC, which had its start delayed due to COVID issues within the program.

NIC plays at Walla Walla on Wednesday.

COEUR d’ALENE — Hilario Murillo scored on an unassisted goal in the 56th minute to send the Sasquatch past the Cardinals in a Northwest Athletic Conference match at Eisenwinter Field.

Max Warnell had two saves for NIC (0-2-0, 0-2-0 NWAC), which plays at Walla Walla on Wednesday.

Spokane is 2-0-0.
