Notable calls for the day!

04-06-21

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy had to deal with an unruly patron at Driver's License twice. She was able to get him to leave the building and no crime had occurred. Later in the day the unruly patron returned to give the office a gift card to buy pizza for the office and apologized for his behavior.

• A Deputy responded to a commercial vehicle crash on Rockford Bay Rd. X Loffs Bay Rd. ISP came to inspect the commercial vehicle and Fire responded to assess the hazmat spill (fluids from the engine). Non-injury and a report was completed.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to a fight in progress. A female called to report that her son was making suicidal statements and fighting with his siblings. On scene it was confirmed that he intended to kill himself. The male appeared to suffer from mental illness and the fight was brought on due to that. No parties involved wished to pursue charges. The male was taken to KH and placed on a PC hold. 21-14315

• A Deputy responded to an alarm call. It was a false alarm, again, and a report was completed regarding the violation of county ordinance. 21-14304

• A Deputy responded to a separate alarm. It was another false alarm, and Deputies completed a report regarding the Hayden City Ordinance on repeated false alarms. 21-14319

• Deputies responded to Robinson Creek Road for an in-progress fight between two males. It was reported that one male arrived and began to attack the other unprovoked. The line then disconnected. On scene they learned suspect had fled the scene after an intense and extensive fight involving him attempting to strike the other male with a rock, trying to hold his head under water, and ripping the phone out of the wall while his mother was on the phone with dispatch. As suspect fled the scene into a wooded area he was heard yelling for his girlfriend. She was heard asking back, "Did you get him?” Attempts were made to locate the two, however, they were not. Benewah County SO also attempted to locate him at his residence, but was unable to find them. 21-14301

• A Deputy responded to the Casino for a drugs report. Casino security was alerted to a male using drugs in the bathroom. They found the male inside holding a syringe. TPD arrived prior to Deputies arrival and located meth in his pocket. The Deputy arrived and confirmed the statements of everyone involved. The male was charged with drug possession. 21-14312

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to a suicide threat. An R/P stated her son was threatening suicide and has been talking about suicide for the last week. She said her son was struggling with the loss of his nephew via suicide within the last year. Deputies contacted the son who was self-medicating with alcohol and was not currently feeling suicidal. The Deputy took time to speak with son who had a safe plan for the evening and plans to follow up with counselor tomorrow. 21-14323

• Deputies responded to the Casino for a drugs complaint. Casino security had a female detained for possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies arrived and cited and released the female for possession of paraphernalia (methamphetamine). 21-14321

• A Deputy handled a juvenile runaway. The R/P reported her juvenile daughter had left the residence without permission. The juvenile was located within a short amount of time and returned to home.

Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to illegal drugs found in apt room #5. The occupant of the room was absent, but the items were found by the home's manager. The room belongs to a male who is currently on felony probation. Under the direction of the male’s probation officer, the room was searched and drugs and paraphernalia were located. The male was not present so charges are being filed. 21-14266

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy responded to Atlas and Diamond Bar at the request of SIU for a traffic stop. The Deputy arrested a female for an open arrest warrant for failure to purchase a driver's license 21-14445

• A Deputy responded to the CDA Casino for a reported missing person. A 71 year old male left the Casino on foot at 1330 hours. The male has dementia, was not dressed for the weather, and met the criteria for an endangered adult. Air 1 was called, along with KCSO Backcountry Units, and an extensive search of the area was conducted for over six hours. Eventually, the male was located in Lewiston with family and it appeared he left the Casino and hitchhiked for a ride to the City. Lewiston PD checked on the male and he was fine. 21-14449

• Deputies responded to the area of Huetter Rd and Seltice Way for a report of a fight in progress. While responding to the area the subjects left in the same vehicle and were followed by the RP to apartments on Ramsey Rd. A Deputy located the vehicle described by the RP and two males outside of it. The Deputy contacted two males who matched the description of those involved. One male fled on foot as the Deputy attempted to detain him and after a brief foot pursuit he was tackled and arrested for obstructing. 21-14448

• A Deputy responded to a property damage crash at Praire and Ramsey. A crash report was completed. 21-14452

• A Deputy responded to a property damage crash at Huetter Rd and Hayden Ave. A driver sheared a power pole off doing what was estimated to be 60 mph. He was cited for reckless driving and possession of drugs. 21-14473

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to a welfare check. A male stated he was a quadriplegic and his wife normally gets him up out of bed early in the mornings. The male was unable to contact his wife as she was not answering the phone nor responding to him calling out to her. Deputies entered the residence and contacted wife who was okay.21-14495

• Deputies responded to W. Hwy 54 for a trespassing/unwanted subject. An R/P reported a male walking on his property. The male yelled at the male to leave and upon the male not moving fast enough for the male so he released his dogs on the male. Deputies located the suspect male who had not been bitten by the dogs. He was trespassed from the property and given a courtesy transport to Spirit Lake. 21-14490
