Ellery 'Al' J. Allen, 83

Ellery "Al" J. Allen left to join his wife, Kathy, on March 13, 2021, at the age of 83 years young.

He resided in Rathdrum, Idaho, for the past seven years with his niece, Rose Head and husband, Rob.

Al spent most of his life in Spokane, Wash. His family moved from Montana to a small farm in the Newman Lake, Wash. area.

Ellery spent several years in the military; he traveled to Japan and Philippines while in the service. He stated that the Marines were his favorite branch of the military.

Ellery enjoyed restoring old cars, photography and building wooden models.

Ellery is survived by his son, Darrel Allen, who resides in California. Darryl stated, “My dad was always there for me. He was like our father in heaven, loving and always forgiving. He taught me good morals and that being a man is standing up for what’s right. I will miss him dearly until I see him again in heaven."

He is also survived by his sister, Pat in Arizona and a nephew and two nieces in Spokane. Wife, Kathy, preceded him in death. Ellery will be missed by his friend, Jennifer in Spokane.

Ellery did not want a service but did want a party. A celebration of his life will be at a later date.
