VIETNAM: Warrior story appreciated

| April 4, 2021 1:00 AM

I want to thank The Press for the article on the five Vietnam vets. The current generation may look at their picture and think these are five old men, graying and slightly bowed in the back. What they don’t realize is that these men in their prime were some of the baddest guys on the planet.

In their youth they were running through a vermin, insect, and reptile infested jungle kicking butt and taking names.

We as a country should thank them and the 2,700,000 brethren who served in the Vietnam War from 1954 through 1975. These men and those like them didn’t lose that war. The war was lost due to stupid strategies developed not by the generals but by the politicians in Washington over lunch.

These men and warriors like them should hold their heads high for a job well done. Their country called and they answered the call like the rest of my fellow veterans have done these past 246 years.
