NIC SOFTBALL: Cardinals fall to Division II Humboldt State

COEUR d’ALENE — Aleksya Batoon hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning for North Idaho College in a 19-1 loss to Division II Humboldt State on Friday at Memorial Field.

Haley Suter hit a grand slam in the second inning for Humboldt State (7-1), finishing with five RBIs. The Lumberjacks, who play in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, are playing all 34 of their games on the road this season due to COVID-19 restrictions on their Arcata, Calif., campus.

NIC (1-2) is scheduled to host the Community Colleges of Spokane in a doubleheader on Thursday starting at 2 p.m.
