Free 'Praise Him' concert Friday

| April 1, 2021 1:00 AM

A free concert is scheduled 7 p.m. Friday at the Music Conservatory of Coeur d’Alene.

The “Praise Him” Good Friday concert pays tribute to Easter weekend through the collaboration of classical guitar artist Erik Sloyka followed by international artists Evgeny Grechko on cello and Nursulu Dyikanbaeva on piano.

"Plan to be uplifted as the sounds of praise inspire us all to remember the One who gives us a new song to sing," according to a press release.

Dyikanbaeva and Grechko brought their family to the United States in 2018.

Dyikanbaeva has won national and international awards, and participated in the 2008 IV International Piano Competition in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She has performed in South Korea, Kazakhstan and Austria.

Grechko has performed in Carnegie Hall, Istanbul City Concert Hall and Ballet Theatre. He has served as a symphony and opera conductor and performs in the Spokane area and with the Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra.

"The Music Conservatory of Coeur d’Alene is honored to feature this concert on Good Friday, a meaningful moment to hear the sacred excellence of this music as created and performed," the press release said.

The Music Conservatory of Coeur d’Alene is at 627 N. Government Way, Cd'A. Donations will be accepted.
