Klaire Mitchell

Grand Canyon volleyball

Mitchell, a 5-foot-7 sophomore from Lake City High, was named the Western Athletic Conference Setter of the Year, the conference announced. Mitchell is Grand Canyon's first at her position since joining the conference in 2012. Mitchell holds the program's Division I assist record with 1,513 in just two seasons with the Lopes. Mitchell also broke the program's Division I-era record for assists in a four-set match with 55 assists against Tarleton on Jan. 26. Additionally, Mitchell ranked first in the WAC and third nationally with 11.89 assists per set. She also proved to be an asset defensively, tallying 22 blocks to rank third on the team.

Grady Leonard

Idaho track and field

Leonard, a redshirt sophomore from Coeur d'Alene High, won the shot put at the Whitworth Invitational on March 26, taking the title with a throw of 56 feet, 10 1/4 inches. Leonard was second in the discus (160-10) and also won the hammer throw with a mark of 193-1.

McKenzie Fletcher

Spokane track and field

Fletcher, a sophomore from Lake City High, was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles at the Whitworth Invitational, finishing in 1 minute, 5.94 seconds.
