Notable calls for the day!

09-27-2020

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies took a vandalism report at the Dalton Market. Unknown suspects painted graffiti on the back of the store.

• ISP noticed a vehicle doing burnouts in the area on Pioneer Dr. behind the Candlelight Church and tried to stop it. After a short pursuit, the vehicle stopped. Deputies responded with CDAPD units and assisted in securing the occupants. A Deputy and His K-9 responded and conducted a K9 search of the vehicle. ISP handled the situation.

• A Deputy was conducing extra patrols in the area of recent construction site thefts. They located a red Chevy truck parked at Old Hwy 95 and Silver Spur. The truck had fictitious plates and had recently been sold but there was no information for the new owner or why the vehicle was in the area. The vehicle was towed.

• A Deputy responded to an unmarked road near Bayview for a suspicious vehicle. A yellow Geo Storm was abandoned in the area. In doing research, the vehicle had been reported stolen back in 2017. In August, Bonner County called and stated they had recovered the vehicle and contacted the RO. However, they did not “recover” the vehicle but left it in the location. The vehicle was no longer listed as stolen so it was tagged 48. The RO said she knew the vehicle was there, but did not have gas money to come get it.

• Deputies took a crash report at Deerhaven and Baillie.

• Deputies took a crash report at Ramsey and Diagonal.

• Deputies took a hit and run crash in the parking lot of the Hayden Walmart.

• A Deputy took a malicious injury report to the speed indicator sign near Dodd and Rimrock. It appeared someone twisted the LED indicator on the pole and it was no longer functioning.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to S. Hwy 3 for a family dispute. The R/P stated her husband was on scene intoxicated and arguing over taking children. Deputies contacted the R/P and determined no crimes were committed. 20-42065

• Deputies responded to N. Westview for a family dispute. The R/P stated his grandson was acting strange and throwing things around the house. On scene deputies contacted grandson and learned he was trying to talk his grandfather into driving him downtown Coeur d ’Alene to purchase marijuana. He admitted to taking Prozac in a powder form that he had purchased online. Due to the unknown substance that he took was transported to KH via ambulance. 20-42068

• A Deputy responded to Prairie Shopping Center for a theft. Two males entered the store and took several men’s clothing items before leaving in a silver 4 door passenger vehicle with Washington Plate. Deputies completed a crime report. 20-42061

• A Deputy contacted a male at Cecil X Mullan and arrested him on his KCSO warrant for providing false information to LE and possession of heroin. 20-42091

• A Deputy stopped and arrested a male for trafficking methamphetamine. The Deputy also arrested a second male for trafficking and cited and released him for possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. One of the males also had a warrant out of Chelan County Washington, however, due to COVID it was non-extraditable. 20-42099

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to N. Steeldust Ct for a domestic. The RP, said her fiancé assaulted her, kicked in the bathroom door while she was hiding and battered her. The male was arrested for Domestic Assault, Domestic Battery and Malicious Injury. 20-42093

• A Deputy contacted a suspicious vehicle at the dead end of Pleasantview on the north side of the river and arrested a male for his warrant. 20-42097

Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies made a plan to arrest a male for his felony warrant. The units went up to the area of E. Bunco Rd. and sat in the area for several hours. The male ended up arriving on scene around and was arrested for his warrant. The male was also arrested for DUI and Injury to Child. 20-41884

• Deputies responded to the 3800 block of Ainsworth Dr. in Hayden for several pieces of mail that were on the ground and appeared to be gone through. A neighbor saw a juvenile female walking by when he noticed the mail. Deputies located the female at Stoddard Park. She admitted to going through mail boxes and opening packages. The juvenile was taken home and returned to her parents with charges pending. 20-41904

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls: • No Notable calls.

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to N. Clue Ct. for a family disturbance. It was reported that a male had gotten bit by his dog and then shot it. It was then reported he battered his wife. Upon arrival, it was learned the male was highly intoxicated and had been roughhousing with the dog and it bit him in the hand. He grabbed a gun and shot at the dog, missing it. The male then came back into the house and got upset over some alleged missing money, which was ultimately located where the male put it. The investigation revealed the male battered and pushed his wife during the incident. He was charged for domestic battery. The dog was not injured. 20-41966

• Deputies responded to Nashville North for a fight. A male battered a second male who did not wish to pursue charges. Report taken. 20-41969

• While on scene at the above mentioned call, another battery was reported. The R/P claimed a female stole his phone. An unknown male hears about it and throws the female to the ground and stands on her arm, however the unknown male left prior to being contacted. The R/P’s phone is ultimately located in the female’s purse however the R/P refused to pursue charges. 20-41972

• Deputies responded to the casino for a reported overdose. Casino security called in to advise a vehicle in the parking lot was occupied by a male and female and they were passed out. There was also paraphernalia in plain view. Upon arrival, it was learned the couple were just sleeping and did not need medical attention. They were detained and the vehicle was searched. Several syringes were located in the vehicle. The paraphernalia was seized and they were trespassed from the casino security. 20-41977

Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Detective observed a motorist slumped over his steering wheel near Post Falls. During the contact, the male admitted having an open bottle of vodka in the vehicle and was run through SFST's. A search of the vehicle turned up a scale, baggies, and methamphetamine. The driver was charged for open container and poss. paraphernalia. He was arrested for poss. of methamphetamine. He was not DUI. 20-41737

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls: • Deputies responded to N. Avondale Loop for a reported Family Dispute. On scene a juvenile was attempting to leave the house without her parent's permission. FI completed. 20-41798

• At approximately 2000 hour the power went out in several locations in Dalton Gardens, Hayden, and Hayden Lake and along the Hwy 95 Corridor including several traffic signals. At this time there is no indication what caused the power outage besides a storm that was moving through the area.

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to N. Reed Rd. for a suicide threat. The R/P called in and advised her ex-boyfriend, who is on probation, is highly intoxicated and was texting her he was going to commit suicide. Deputies checked the residence and could not locate the male. He would tell the R/P he was near his house, but would not tell her exactly where he was. Contact was made with the male who was highly intoxicated. He did admit to sending the messages, however, was adamant he was not suicidal, he was just seeking attention. His PO was contacted. 20-41825

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Seltice Way and Pleasant View Rd. The driver, exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. She was asked to complete SFST's, however, her performance was very poor due to her admitted inability to focus on the task because the Deputy is "cute and distracting". She agreed to submit to a breath test and provided breath samples of .082/.079. Because one of her readings was below the legal limit, she was ultimately released without charges and a ride was called for her. 20-41845
