NIC men's, women's golf teams win invitational
ROSLYN, Wash. — The North Idaho College golf teams returned to action in style, sweeping the men's and women's team and individual titles at the Suncadia Invitational.
Led by Jared Smith's first-place round of 2-under-par 70, the Cardinal men won Monday's event by 20 shots over second-place Skagit Valley.
NIC's James Swan took second individually, shooting a 1-under 71 at the Rope Rider Course in Roslyn, Wash. As a team, the Cardinals shot 289, only 1-over par.
The NIC women won the team title by 2 shots over second-place Bellevue, shooting a combined 257 at the 18-hole event.
Caitlin O’Connor won individual honors with a round of 82, while Cardinal teammate Emily Elliott took third with a round of 83.
