POST FALLS — Aidan O’Halloran scored two goals in the first half for Post Falls.

In the second 40 minutes, that’s where things picked up.

Post Falls goalkeeper Kael McGowan received a red card after making a slide tackle in the 44th minute, allowing Lake City to rally for a 2-2 draw in a 5A Inland Empire League match on Thursday.

“Kael came out on a challenge and clipped the player’s foot,” said Post Falls coach Gabe Lawson, who turned to a pair of backups to finish out the match. “We really dominated the first half and they really had nothing going. We started the second half really well and had to play with 10 guys and were kind of scrambling to figure things out.”

Kohrt Weber and Landon Lee scored 12 minutes apart in the second half to tie the match for Lake City.

"We had plenty of opportunities to put the game away in the second half, but were unable to finish them," Lake City coach Alan Rich said. "Credit to Post Falls for fighting to the end."

“We ended up pressing them and had a game winner, but missed it,” Lawson said. “It was kind of a crazy game.”

“She found some spots, finally found some gaps in the defense,” Lake City coach Matt Ruchti said of Romero. “Tonight was a great night for her — she found her moments, and took advantage of them.”
