A memorial of a cross and flowers stands on the North Idaho Centennial Trail near the site of a fatal crash on Sept. 11 on Interstate 90. A preliminary hearing scheduled today for Christine M. Cann, 57, of Coeur d’Alene, the driver charged with felony vehicular manslaughter in the case, was rescheduled for Oct. 6. The head-on collision killed Jeremy T. Scherer, 24, of Spokane Valley. Police said Cann said drove west in the eastbound lanes I-90 in a 2020 Toyota RAV4 before striking Scherer's Chevy Sonic about 12:30 p.m. Cann was arrested later that night and remains at the Kootenai County jail on $75,000 bail. Investigators with Idaho State Police and the Kootenai County Prosecutors Office have asked anyone who witnessed the crash to contact ISP at 208-209-8730.
