SPIRIT LAKE — On this night, the battle went to the Panthers of Coeur d’Alene.

Jordan Gallegos and Quinn Clovis scored in the first half for Coeur d’Alene Charter in a 2-0 win over the Timberlake Tigers in an Intermountain League match at Timberlake High on Wednesday.

Miles Taylor had three saves for Coeur d’Alene Charter (2-2-2, 2-0-2 IML), which faces Priest River on Saturday at The Fields at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls.

“It was a scrappy little match,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Justin Nitti said. “It was hard for either team to get into a flow in the game. It was just a good, hard knuckle fight at midfield for most of the game.”
