Constitution Week Spotlight

| September 23, 2020 1:00 AM

Sept. 23, 2020

Constitution Week, Sept. 17 to 23, commemorates the signing of the Constitution of the United States.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal" and, "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” are not in the Constitution, but are in the Declaration of Independence.

"Of the people, by the people, for the people" is neither in the Constitution nor the Declaration of Independence, but comes from the Gettysburg Address. Know your Constitution!

Did you know? Daughters of the American Revolution’s Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., is the only structure dedicated to the U.S. Constitution.

This Constitution Week Spotlight was provided by Lt. George Farragut Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. As always, The Press is grateful for their constitutional efforts in many areas.
