Helen passed away peacefully at her home (North Star) in Coeur d’Alene, on Sept. 5, 2020.

She was born in Scobey, Mont. and was raised in Kellogg, Idaho, graduating in 1943. She moved to Spokane, Wash. to attend St. Luke’s School of Nursing. During that time, she met Carl Staley through family friends and they married after her graduation in 1946. They were married for 63 years until his passing in 2009.

Their traveling took them to many islands in the Caribbean and South Pacific. Some of their favorite places were Tobago, Bora Bora, New Zealand and Hawaii. They wintered in Arizona and Kona, Hawaii.

They shared a passion for golf and Helen continued playing after Carl passed away, making her one of the longest playing members of the Coeur d’Alene Golf Club.

Helen is survived by two daughters: Gwen (Rick) and Pam (Charley), three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19, there will be no memorial at this time.
