ATHOL — Sandpoint’s Jett Lucas and Post Falls’ Sammie Wood were the top finishers in the Varsity 1 race at the Timberlake Invitational at Farragut State Park on Saturday.

Lucas won in 16 minutes, 24.1 seconds and Wood in 18:06.8.

Races were split between the top seven on each team for social distancing protocols.

“We ran waves to keep the kids socially distant and the races small,” Timberlake coach Shawn Lawler said. “Everything went really well and we got finished right before the smoke became unhealthy.”

Team scores were not available.
