Orlandi, Tackett part of L-C State all-decade women's basketball team

LEWISTON — The votes have been counted and former Lewis-Clark State basketball standout and current associate head coach Caelyn Orlandi is the L-C State women's basketball MVP of the Decade.

Orlandi, a former Coeur d'Alene High standout, joins the team of six Warriors on the All-Decade Team, a team which also includes another former Coeur d'Alene standout, Brittany Tackett.

Also voted into the elite group were Alyssa Fierro, Tanis Fuller, Brittaney Niebergall and Jasmine Stohr.

Orlandi (2013-17) completed her storied career with an NAIA first-team All-American nod and was the Frontier Conference Player of the Year as a senior. She was a first-team all-conference selection twice, once voted to the second team and was the 2014 Frontier Conference Freshman of the Year. As a senior Orlandi set the program-record for assists in a season with 261, and in a career with 634. She ranks fourth all-time in points scored (1,766), fifth in field goals made (622), sixth in 3-pointers made (199), seventh in points per game (13.1), seventh in free throws made (323), third in free throw percentage (.848) and is second in games played (135).

Tackett (2014-18) was voted an NAIA All-American twice in her career, with a third-team nod in 2016 and then second-team in 2017. She was named All-Frontier Conference three times, with two being first-team honors. As a junior, Tackett led the NAIA in field goal percentage (.653) to set the program record and break her previous best mark of .617 the season before. She set the LC State Women’s Basketball record for career field goal percentage with a mark of .611 and is also a member of the 1,000-Point Club. She ranks ninth all-time in field goals made with 520.

Fierro (2008-12) was a three-time All-Frontier Conference honoree, including two first-team selections. She sits second (331) and sixth (296) in the record book for rebounds in a single season. A dominant force on defense, Fierro blocked 63 shots, third-most in a season, in 2010-11, and collected 52 blocks in both the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. She is second all-time in rebounds (1,094) and blocks (204), third in rebounds per game (8.2) and ninth in free throws made (307).

A two-time NAIA third team All-American selection, Fuller (2011-15) was also voted first team all-conference in her senior season. She is seventh in the record books for field goals made in a season with 216, and seventh on the all-time scoring list with 1,483 points. Her points per game average of 11.7 ranks 10th all-time, and her 602 field goals made is sixth. Fuller grabbed 717 rebounds in her career, good for sixth most in the program.

Niebergall (2011-14) was voted the 2012 Frontier Conference Freshman of the Year and second team all-conference after leading the Warriors in assists with 142. The mark at the time was the 10th-best in school history. As a junior in 2013-14, she made 143 free throws, the second most in a single season. Her 96 steals in 2011-12 are tied for fourth-most all-time, and her 95 in 2013-14 are seventh-most. She was voted second team All-Frontier Conference to end her career in 2014.

Stohr (2008-12) became the third women’s basketball player to be inducted into the L-C Athletic Hall of Fame. The three-time All-American (2010-12) finished her four-year career with 2,143 points to average 15.6 per game. She carried a 46.8 field goal percentage and shot 78.2 percent from the free throw line. In 2012, she was named the North Idaho Female College Athlete of the Year. In the L-C State women’s basketball record books, Stohr is first in free throws made in a single season (155), third in points scored in a single season (614) and third for all-time points scored (2,143). Her 15.6 points per game average ranks third all-time for the Warriors, and her 772 field goals made are fourth. She holds the L-C State women's basketball record for free throws made with 460. Stohr went on to sign a professional contract with ZBK Poprad of the Slovakian League.
