Idaho positivity rate for coronavirus falls again

The latest positivity rate for the coronavirus in the Panhandle Health District was 5.2%, tied with District 4 for the lowest in the state, according to the state's coronavirus website.

The website reported 1,999 PCR tests were completed for the PHD from Aug. 30 to Sept. 5.

The state's positivity rate for the same week was 7.4% based on 14,264 tests. That's the sixth-straight week it has declined. It reached a high of 14.8% for the week of July 5 to July 11.

Kootenai County had 13 new coronavirus cases on Friday, PHD reported, bringing it 313 total cases. Of those, 153 are active, which is .09 percent of the county's population.

PHD has 2,957 total cases and 52 deaths due to the virus, according to the state website.
