| September 12, 2020 1:00 AM

Two people were taken to Kootenai Health following a head-on collision on Interstate 90 Friday afternoon.

According to the Idaho State Police, Christine M. Cann, 57, of Coeur d'Alene, was driving a 2020 Toyota Rav4 when she entered the interstate from Northwest Boulevard, Exit 11, traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes.

Cann continued to travel in the wrong direction when she hit Jeremy T. Scherer, 24, of Spokane Valley, in a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic head on near milepost 10, ISP reported.

The collision caused Scherer to spin sideways where he was struck on his driver's side by Christopher B. Comer, 57, of Issaquah, Wash., in a 2019 Subaru Forester, the ISP said.

Scherer's and Comer's vehicles continued off the right shoulder and came to rest near the bike path. Cann's vehicle came to rest in the middle of the eastbound lanes.

Cann and Scherer were both transported to Kootenai Health.

The roadway was blocked for about three hours.

All three drivers were wearing their safety belts, ISP said.

An investigation continues. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information is asked to contact Trooper Archer 208-209-8730.
