Two vehicle crash sends three to hospital

At approximately 8:20 p.m. Thursday, Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash at the intersection of Highway 53 and Atlas Road, just east of Rathdrum.

Dan Brison, 62, of Athol, was driving westbound on Highway 53 in a 2020 Western semi-truck. Diane Clark, 70, of Greenacres, was driving southbound on Atlas in a 2007 Acura MDX and failed to stop at the stop sign. The vehicles collided and Brison struck the Acura on the driver-side door. The semi-truck went off the southbound shoulder of the roadway and tipped over. The Acura came to a rest on the northbound shoulder.

Brison and his passenger, Charles Farley, 34, of Oldtown, and Clark were all transported to Kootenai Health for unknown injuries. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The roadway was blocked for approximately two hours. This crash investigation is continuing.
