Nancy Jane Harmon Vernon, 74

We are saddened to announce that Nancy Vernon passed away peacefully on Sept. 4, 2020.

Nancy was born on Aug. 30, 1946, to Major Willian Reuben Harmon, Jr. (United States Air Force) and Ona Louise Deshazo, in San Antonio, Texas.

She grew up in Torrance, Calif., and graduated from West High School in 1964. Nancy worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company in the planning department assigned to the DC 10 project.

In 1969, she married Gerald Vernon and had a daughter, Jennifer Jo Vernon, in 1972. After leaving McDonnell Douglas, Nancy entered the health care insurance sales field and enjoyed a successful career as a senior account manager.

Nancy loved to travel to Europe and Hawaii and was an avid reader of mystery, crime and adventure novels. She loved listening to Neil Diamond with her best pals Donna, Valerie and Cathy.

Nancy was a fun-loving person with a beautiful smile and a wonderful personality. She adored her grandson and enjoyed spending time with him.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Cimmet. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Jennifer, of Coeur d Alene, her grandson, Brodey, and her brother, William Reuben Harmon III.

She will be missed!
