KINDNESS: Even in political season

| September 9, 2020 1:00 AM

I read with dismay the article about a man’s flag being cut down. I am sickened by the actions of the woman in Colorado who stopped and beat up a 12-year-old boy, because he was expressing his opinion. I won’t even go into all the fighting and destruction that is occurring in our cities.

It’s time for all of us to step back and let people express their opinions peacefully. It doesn’t matter what you believe. You have a right to your opinion without being afraid.

Long time friends are dropping their friends because the politics are different. Since when should that matter to a friendship? You should even be able to discuss your differences intelligently without rancor. That has long been the case in our country until now.

Kindness is the most important attribute that we can possess. If you can’t be kind, at least be respectful.

Love (treat) one another as you would want to be loved.
