ANNIVERSARIES
Francis and Betty Benway
70th Anniversary
Francis (Fritz) Benway and Betty Robb were married on Aug. 4, 1950, in the Methodist Church
in Superior, Mont. Betty was raised in Superior and Fritz came there from Wisconsin in 1947.
Shortly after their marriage, Fritz entered the Army and was stationed in Panama where Betty was able
to join him for a year. Upon their return to Superior, Fritz worked for Diamond Match and Betty worked
in various court house offices.
Their two daughters were born while they lived in Superior and in 1961, the family moved to
Great Falls, Mont. Fritz worked as a heavy equipment operator for the city of Great Falls and for
Cascade County, retiring in 1991 after 28 years. Betty worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,
retiring in 1994 after nearly 27 years.
In 1976, they found their dream home south of Great Falls where they had pasture for their two
horses and Fritz was able to build a woodworking shop and pursue his favorite hobby. They spent many
years enjoying Montana and visiting relatives in Wisconsin.
In 1999, they decided to pursue their love of fishing and moved to the Coeur d'Alene area. They
purchased a home in Hayden. They are involved in Shrine activities and lead a busy life.
They have two daughters, Leanna (David) Lindquist of Portland, Ore., and Diana (Burt)
Butler of Cascade, Mont. They have two grandchildren, Wendi Lindquist (Johan Hurtig) of Seattle
and Michael Lindquist of Portland.
Their family was unable to come to celebrate the occasion due to COVID-19, but they were
honored by a drive-by from friends and dinner with one of their favorite couples. A trip to central
Washington with their family is planned for later this fall.
Michael and Erin Valente
30th Anniversary
Michael and Erin Valente were married on Sept. 8, 1990. They are both lifelong Post Falls residents, where they have raised their three boys Taylor Michael, Trystan Andrew and Trace Aaron (all of Post Falls).
They have owned and operated Valente’s Hair Design for the past 29 years in Post Falls and in the last few years have owned Valente Homes, doing construction work.
They enjoy their family time with the boys and their “fur grandbabies.”
Here’s to 30 more years! We love you!
