RATHDRUM — A Medical Lake, Wash., woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Jennifer L. Satko, 41, was transported to Kootenai Health with non-life threatening injuries following the 4:30 p.m. accident at the intersection of Idaho and Burlington roads, according to a Kootenai County Sheriff's Office press release.

"It was initially reported that the sole occupant was not breathing and was trapped in the vehicle," the release said. "As units were responded, callers updated that the female driver was alert but still trapped in the vehicle."

When first responders arrived on scene, Satko was out of the vehicle and was walking around, the release said.

Investigators determined that Satko was northbound on Idaho Road and failed to negotiate a curve or stop for a stop sign, the press release said. The vehicle crossed Burlington Road, flipped, and landed in the Burlington refueling depot property.

Other than a fence, no structures were damaged.

"It appears that alcohol was a factor in the accident," the release said.
