GUNS: White not always right

Why is it we automatically assume that a white guy with a gun is a good guy and a black guy is a bad guy, even when he is unarmed? It’s not black guys that are committing mass shootings across the country. It’s white boys and men that are doing it. Columbine, Parkland, Sandy Hook, El Paso, Texas, Odessa-Midland, Dayton, Las Vegas, Pulse night club - all white boys or men. All of the mass shootings that I can remember have been done by white males, not a one by blacks!

Why did Kenosha police automatically treat that kid with the AR as a good guy? If he had been black he would have been shot on sight! Why did the police here in CDA turn a blind eye when the white vigilantes took over downtown several weeks ago? I wonder if the police or the downtown merchants would have done the same if the skin color of the “patriots” was Black. I think not!

Through our nation’s history, blacks have proved they love their country. They have fought in every American war, including the Civil War to help preserve the Union; they fought in WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. Many have paid the ultimate price and never returned home. The ones who do come home are then treated like second class citizens. That is freaking wrong!

Doc Rivers said the other day, “We love this country. Why can’t this country love us?”

Enough is enough!

It’s high time we stopped assuming things based on skin color.
