IDFG considers new hunting, trapping rules

| September 3, 2020 1:00 AM

Delaying the start of pheasant season by five days for nonresident hunters, establishing additional restrictions for use of body-gripping traps on dry ground and designating two special waterfowl hunting days for veterans and active military personnel are among items being considered by Fish and Game.

Idaho Fish and Game is currently taking public comment on these and more proposed rules and temporary rules that would affect hunting, trapping, nonresidents license purchases and more.

The list of proposed rules is on the department’s rulemaking webpage.

Send email or written comments before Sept. 23 to Paul Kline, P.O. Box 25, Boise, ID, 83707, rules@idfg.idaho.gov.

All of these rules must be approved by the Legislature to take effect. Based on public comment, the Fish and Game commission will decide whether to forward these rules to the Legislature for approval. - Staff
