COEUR d'ALENE — The investigation of the fire believed to be arson at Hudson's Hamburgers last week is continuing.

Coeur d'Alene Police Capt. Dave Hagar said police are confident they will make an arrest in the case and have pictures of the person they said is a suspect.

"We're working through all the tips," he said Tuesday.

The early morning Aug. 25 fire started in the back of the building, where it damaged a supply room. The suspect also tried to break into an ATM, police said.

Hudson's Hamburgers, which has been around more than a century and has received national attention, is at 207 E. Sherman. Owner Steve Hudson discovered the fire when he arrived about 6:30 a.m.

"Once the fire was extinguished, evidence of arson and a burglary were discovered," a press release said.

In surveillance videos, the suspect is seen multiple times throughout the night walking between 2nd and 4th streets and Front Avenue to approximately Indiana Avenue, police said.

The suspect was also wearing a light-colored mask covering the lower portion of his face.

Anyone with information on the suspect or fire is asked to call 208-769-2320 or e-mail a tip to policetips@cdaid.org.

Hudson's is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. weekdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday, according to its website.
