Howard Earl Merriman, Jr., 65

Howard Earl Merriman, Jr., age 65, passed away at Guardian Angel Home in Post Falls, on Aug. 27, 2020.

Howard was born in Spokane, Wash., on March 8, 1955, to Howard and Nina (Hartnett) Merriman. He was raised in Spokane, attended Ferris High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17.

Howard married Darla Sue Bertrand on Sept. 1, 1990, in Spokane.

He was a service manager for the Bureau of Land Management.

Howard was a member of His Place Evangelical Free Church in Post Falls. He loved hot rods and the car show at His Place. He enjoyed camping, yard work and projects around the house.

He is survived by his wife, Darla, at home in Post Falls; step-son, Brian, and his wife, Shelley Wendt, of Spokane; daughter, Brittany Merriman of Post Falls; grandchildren Camryn Wendt, Anya Wendt, Oscar Wendt and Ella Woodruff; brother, Ron, and his wife, Kati Merriman.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Greg Merriman.

Memorial contributions may be made in Howard's name to Guardian Angel Homes, 1050 E. Mullan Ave., Post Falls, ID 83854.

A private family service will be held. Inurnment will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, is in charge of the arrangements.
