Colby Donel Roop, 31

| September 2, 2020 1:00 AM

Colby Donel Roop passed away suddenly on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020, in Post Falls, Idaho. He was born in Evanston, Wyo., to Dara and Donel Roop on Sept. 29, 1988. Colby was a beautiful and inquisitive young man. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, and a best friend, whom we will always miss and wish to have more time with.

Colby regularly read the Bible and had spiritual discussions with family and friends. No one comes to earth without personal struggles. As time went on, Colby turned to God more and more for answers and we are comforted that he now is in God’s loving hands.

Those who knew Colby will never forget the passionate and introspective conversations they were fortunate to share with him. He always had a kind word and an unforgettable laugh. Colby was free-thinking and an intellectual, who always marched to his own tune. He was a passionate advocate about personal liberties and rights and always willing to explain his point of view. His love of animals, especially dogs, was amazing as they loved him as well.

Colby was willing to help everyone. Friends say he was kind, caring, polite and unselfishly willing to help anyone else in trouble. Employers appreciated his work ethic and he always wanted to be his best. He was a skilled concrete craftsman.

Colby is survived by his mother, Dara Lynn Roop; his father, Donel Roop and step-mother, Anna Roop; siblings, Ryan Roop, Samantha Roop, Amber Roop and Chris Alley, Chelsea Brown and Shaune Gardner and Chase and Rachel Brown. He has beloved nieces: Kayleigh Roop, Mackenzie Roop and Shay Alley, and two wonderful nephews: Drake Roop and Elijah Alley. Colby has many uncles, aunts and cousins from the Sandpoint, Idaho area.

A viewing will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 5., 2020, at English Funeral Home at 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls. A private family service will follow at a later time due to COVID-19.

He is so loved and missed by his family. Colby Donel Roop, Forever in our hearts.
