Notable calls for the day!

08-28-2020

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Detectives and Deputies located and arrested a male in Hayden reference a FTA warrant. 20-36790.

• Deputies responded to Hayden Walmart for a report of a fight in the parking lot. Upon arrival, it was learned the “fight” was a family trying to deal with an autistic adult after he got upset in the store. After getting out into the parking lot the male attempted to flee from the vehicle. Additional family was called to the scene and was able to calm him down enough to leave.

• Deputies responded to the area of Atlas Rd. X Hayden Ave. for a report of a battery. On scene it was determined that a male battered a female friend during a dispute. She refused to pursue charges. The male was located a short distance away and contacted.

• A Deputy wrote multiple Fish and Game violations while checking the area around Hauser Lake. Apparently, people are unaware that you could not fish under your boyfriend/girlfriend's license, even if they had a 2 pole permit.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Several Deputies responded to a Multiple Alarm Structure Fire involving at least 2 or 3 structures and vegetation in the area of Kaniksu St. X Willamette in Post Falls to assist PFPD and Fire. At the time of the call, some occupants for at least one of the structures were unaccounted for. A dog was also left in one of the residences, however, after the fire was put out it was believed all occupants made it out safely. Both homes were a total loss and several neighboring homes were also damaged. 20-36865

• Civil Deputy served a TPO to a resident on S. Winton Rd. About 10 minutes after the paperwork was served, the mother of the person who was served called 911 stating her daughter had consumed alcohol and pills in an attempt at harming herself. Deputies took the daughter to KH on a protective custody hold. 20-36874

• Deputies responded to the area of Prairie X Howell for a reported Head On Injury Crash involving 2 vehicles. On scene Deputies determined a male passenger was complaining of head and chest pain, but refused to any treatment. 20-36889

• Deputies responded to W. Box Canyon Dr. for a possible Domestic Dispute. After an investigation it was learned no physical domestic happened and the argument was over child custody issues. Parties were separated and recommended to get a parenting plan in place. 20-36898

• A Deputy (working a Seat Belt Emphasis) stopped a male for texted and driving. As they were issuing the citation, they could smell of marijuana in the vehicle. She asked the male to get out of the vehicle. He later asked if he could get his cigarettes out of the car, and instead was attempting to conceal a container of meth deeper into the vehicle in hopes of keeping it away from the Deputy. Unfortunately for him, a second Deputy observed the male trying to conceal the drugs between the seat and the center console. He was placed in custody and transported to PSB for Poss. of Meth/Poss. Mara/Para. 20-36899

• Deputies responded to W. Romin Rd. in District 4 for a 911 Hang-Up. It was heard by Dispatchers/Call-Takers a scuffle and what sounded like a child crying. On scene they learned that 9 year old female had thrown a fit regarding her phone being taken. During the fit she struck her mother several times. No charges were requested and a report was filed. 20-36904

• Deputies responded to N. Nautical Loop for a reported Physical Domestic between a male and female possibly, involving a firearm. On scene, Deputies determined that no firearm was used in the argument, however, the male was in possession of one. After the investigation, it was determined that no crime was committed however. 20-36912

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle on Seltice X Beck. As a result, the driver was charged for DUI. 20-36930

• Deputies responded to W. Twinlow for a Medical Assist. A male and another male were intoxicated and "play" fighting when it escalated. A third male intervened to stop the fight as things were getting out of control. The suspect then threw third to the ground and began striking him in the face multiple times causing severe bruising, and other facial injuries. The victim was transported to KH and Deputies attempted to contact suspect, however, he was nowhere to be found. A report was completed, but the level of charges is pending the outcome of the victim. 20-36939

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies contacted a male on a suspicious circumstances observation. He was arrested for his 8 counts of identity theft warrant and cited/released for mara/para. 20-36975.

• Deputies contacted a female on a traffic stop in the Stateline area. She was arrested for DUI. 20-36983.

• Deputies assisted CDAPD by responding to the Athol Super 1 to search for and locate a vehicle stole from the City. Deputies recovered the stolen vehicle and transported the suspect to the PSB for the PD. 20-36991.

• Deputies responded to Hwy 95 x Chilco for a single vehicle moderate injury rollover collision. Units held the scene until ISP could be called out to handle. 20-36992.

• Deputies responded to Riverview x Marion Ct for a suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, units made a traffic stop on a vehicle. During the stop, a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia were located. The driver was cited/released. 20-36938.

• Deputies responded to tampered mailboxes in the area of Reed x Wyoming. Upon arrival, units located multiple pieces of stolen mail. The mail was returned to their respective residences and theft report was taken. 20-36985

Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to what was reported as an injured cow on the side of HWY 3 in the area of Rose Lake. A citizen called to report the injured animal, stated it had a baby with it, and wanted to shoot it and take it. After confirming it was a domestic cow, the citizen was told they could not shoot it or take it. Upon arrival, it was discovered that it was in fact a cow elk, not a farmer's cow.

• Deputies responded to a 3 vehicle injury accident in the area of Ramsey Rd. X Diagonal Rd. There was a total of 17 people in the 3 vehicles. Injuries were not found and all parties refused medical. The collision was caused when the stop sign was not utilized.

• Deputies responded to the area of FSR 206 X FSR 1552 for a report of a suspicious sign and smell. The RP believed it to be due to human remains. A note saying "I am not who you think I am" was located under 2 crossed sticks. The remains were located and clearly from fowl, not humans.

• Deputies responded to the Spirit Lake Boat launch for a report of a battery. 2 juveniles called to report the occupants of a boat threw a rock at them as they passed. One juvenile was struck in the nose. During the investigation, Deputies could not get a believable story out of either child. It is believed to a fabricated story, however a report was completed.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded with SLPD, ISP, and multiple Fire/EMS units to the area of Hwy 41 and McWilliams for a reported Wildland Fire. At the time of the call there were at least 2 RP's stating the fire was moving east. On scene Fire units quickly gained control of the fire. Hwy 41 was shut down during the incident. 20-37089

• Deputies responded to the area of Silver Beach Rd. X Coeur d'Alene Lake Dr. for reported Shots Fired call. It was reported people at a house above the 45mph sign were shooting from the deck across the roadway into the trees near the water frontage. On scene Deputies were unable to locate the mentioned shooting or determine where it was coming. They spoke to neighbors who were unable to confirm that any noises were heard. 20-37102

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputy observed a vehicle in the Stateline Village violating some traffic laws. A stop was conducted on the vehicle and ultimately the driver was charged with DUI excessive. 20-37177.

Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to Ruby Rd. for an assist. A male fell into a cistern and became trapped. He was above the water level but became fatigued and could not get out. Fire responded and the male was pulled out of the cistern.

• Deputies took an injury ATV crash on FS 612 near the Fernan Saddle. A male was riding passenger in a UTV side by side when the vehicle rolled. The male's hand was caught between the UTV and the roadway, severely injuring his fingers. Male was transported via ambulance for treatment.

• Deputies responded to assist fire with a strong smell of gas coming from the residence on Harrison Ave. Due to the strong gas smell coming from the residence entry was made to make sure everyone was ok. No one was home and it was learned an un-used valve for a gas dryer had partially turned on leaking gas into the home. Avista secured the gas line and notes were left for family to call when they return.

• ISP aired a hit and run crash on E/B I90 near Huetter. A Patrol Sergeant located the run vehicle I90 E/B at MP 15. He stopped the vehicle for ISP. ISP responded and handled the crash.

• Deputies stopped a male at Hwy 95 and Honeysuckle for his obstructed windows. He had an active warrant and was arrested. The male’s girlfriend was in the car and very concerned as they were homeless and camping in the back country but was unsure how to get back to camp. We were able to provide assistance and help her get where she needed to go.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to W. Parkview Drive for a suspicious vehicle. An anonymous caller said there was an older dodge van parked outside their residence for the past couple days. The RP witnessed a female coming and going from the van and wanted LE to check for possible drug activity. No one was located and an FI was completed. 20-37261

• Deputies responded to Pete Silas Lane for a family disturbance. Tribal responded and took over the call. 20-37271

• Deputies responded to W. Treend Road for a missing person. A male reported that he and his wife had gotten into an argument and had left the residence within the last couple hours. According to the male, the female had consumed 2-3 martinis during the evening. The male said he searched the residence and was unable to locate female. Deputies arrived on scene and located the female who was sleeping outside the residence. No crimes were committed. 20-47284

• Deputies responded to a possible suicide on Memorial Bridge. An R/P reported a female and male on the bridge as she was driving by. When she looked back in mirror, the female was gone from the bridge. Two other RP’s reported 3 individuals running on bridge with backpacks. Deputies searched the area below the bridge by grid search. CDA Fire utilized their drone and our K-9s were utilized. After a lengthy search and tracking down R/P is was determined that there were no victims and no one jumped. Deputies completed incident report. 20-37277

• Deputies responded to Triple Play for a domestic dispute. A male had failed to return his children to their mother earlier in the evening and CDA PD took a child custody interference report. The female found out the male had their children at Triple Play and she responded to get them. While trying to get her children from the male, he ripped his daughters hand from the female’s hand. The male was ultimately charged with domestic battery via citation. The female had proper documentation that she had custody of the children and left with them. Deputies completed a crime report. 20-37272

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to N Maple for a disturbance. A male was on scene throwing things around. They arrived and contacted the male, who was highly intoxicated and agitated. While trying to investigate what was going on, the male took a swing at a Deputy. Before taking a punch to the face, the Deputy was able to block the blow and he and another Deputy took the male into custody for Battery on a Peace Officer. 20-37302
