Deputy injured in crash

A Benewah County deputy was injured in a crash Saturday on US 95, just south of Tensed.

Bradley Hampton, 50, was reportedly driving southbound in his patrol vehicle when he drove off the northbound shoulder of the highway.

The crash caused a small brush fire to ignite, which spread to Hampton’s vehicle.

Hampton was transported by LifeFlight to Kootenai Health. He was reportedly wearing a seat belt.

An investigation continues.
