FAITHFUL: I think not
Really? Mere days before Thanksgiving, the Coeur d’Alene Press printed Bob Shillingstad’s “Faithful Observations” encouraging us to closely congregate with others for the holidays, during the height of the most dangerous pandemic in over 100 years.
Why? This is clearly contrary to all thoughtful medical and scientific recommendations. Not wanting to clog up my poor suffering brain with explosive nonsense, I usually try to speed read Mr. Shillingstad’s well written, but off the wall, right wing articles masquerading as religious guidance.
What does inflammatory gobbledygook demonizing Democrats as socialists and communists have to do with the teachings of Jesus? And further, what does encouraging people to jeopardize the health and lives of their families and friends have to do with the teachings of Jesus?
Mr. Shillingstad is obviously a talented writer, but please stop passing anti-science, right wing politics off as spiritual sustenance. I, for one, have lost my appetite for such dangerous, difficult to digest, inedible nonsense.
