TRUMP: A dodger he’s not

It is obvious that by calling President Trump a “DRAFT DODGER” (her caps) in her Nov. 13 Readers Write rant that Vicki Syth is ignorant of the Selective Service System of the 1960s.

Avoiding the forced military servitude of the times took many forms. Being a faith-based conscientious objector. Being enrolled in college as a full-time student. Receiving a medical deferment, etc.

President Trump received a medical deferment for bone spurs. V.P. Biden also gamed the system with a medical deferment for, ahem, “asthmas as a teenager” and DID NOT serve the country.

Neither was a “DRAFT DODGER.” Draft dodgers were men who burned their draft cards, refused to be conscripted and fled to Canada.

Ms. Syth, NASTY does not serve you well.
