RADIATION: Be aware of danger

I spoke at the Dalton Gardens P & Z meeting Nov. 9 in opposition to allowing small cell antennas there. We already are constantly bombarded with pulsed, data-modulated, Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Microwave Radiation (RF-EMR) exposures due to the proliferation of cellular wireless, radio & T.V. signals. The rollout of 4G/5G will exponentially increase these RF-EMF exposures. The consequences on human health are staggering.

We have tested five wireless telecommunications facilities (WTF) around Coeur d’Alene and their RF emissions are off the charts, over 8 GHz! These WTFs are close to businesses and residential areas.

We have brought this issue to the CDA City Council to no avail. We hope Dalton Gardens takes heed with an ordinance following the FCC guidelines. These are the larger WTFs but the small cell antenna outputs are multiple times more.

A locality can set a maximum output limit from all frequencies/antennas from WTFs at 0.1 watt of Effective Radiated Power (ERP). That provides enough signal strength at half mile down the street, with five bars on a cell phone and the capacity needed for everyone to make a call.

One key Federal Judiciary Ruling was on Oct. 1, 2019, Mozilla vs. FCC. The FCC gave up its Title II regulation over Broadband Internet transmissions, changing Internet/Video/Gaming from Title II (regulated, and subject to TCA preemption) to Title I (unregulated). What this means is Internet/Video/Gaming transmissions are unregulated by FCC and under local jurisdiction! Under FCC’s Title 1, every resident is entitled to voice and text. Internet transmissions are best by energy-efficient Fiber Optic to the Premises (FTTP).
