ELECTION: Ominous overtones

If we end up with a Democrat-controlled country, we “Deplorables” are very concerned with how we will be treated by the new administration.

We would have a Vice President (probably soon to be President) who has openly said, “We know who you are and are coming after you” and a socialist form of government on the horizon.

Some people believe that social programs meant to assist those who are underprivileged means we are a socialist country already. Social welfare programs are the result of our Christian heritage which requires that we be concerned for the less fortunate. A Socialist form of government is one in which the federal government controls all of our lives from workplace, health care, and where and how we live.

If we have a socialist form of government controlled by a person who has said “We know who you are and we are coming after you,” what can we expect? That policy certainly will not be unifying. We already have people in the proposed administration who want to blackball anyone connected to the Trump administration to keep them from ever having another job.

What would keep them from expanding that idea to voters who are registered as Republicans? We already have people who are willing to beat anyone wearing pro-Trump clothing. Let’s hope for better.
