Wishing Star Foundation sets annual Wishes & Wine

Wishes & Wine is an annual fundraising event benefiting the Wishing Star foundation.

Wishes & Wine — Virtual Event is open to the public and will this year be offered online on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The excitement will begin with live music by the Chris Austin Martinez band of Houston. Chris has worked with music industry greats like Willie Nelson and Toby Keith. He is known for his soulful style and diverse musical portfolio.

The auction will begin at 7 with John Curley the Emmy Award TV host, celebrity auctioneer and the host of the radio show on KIRO in Seattle leading the festivities.

Admission to Wishes & Wine is free, those wanting to attend only need to go to www.wishingstar.org to register. Wishing Star is offering a special VIP experience for $50 which includes a bottle of Arbor Crest wine and two Wishing Star wine glasses.

This year Wishing Star will open the silent auction three days prior to the event so bidding can start. Auction items include an African safari, a handcrafted wine bar, several "stay-cations" and hunting packages and much more.

The Wishes & Wine virtual event will support local children who are battling a terminal illness or life-threatening illness.

Celebrating its 36th year, the Wishing Star Foundation is the oldest wish granting organization west of the Mississippi, and was established in 1983 by a local teacher and mother who was impacted by the loss of a first-grade student to cancer.
