FLAGS: A veteran’s plea

| November 20, 2020 1:00 AM

Driving around Dalton Gardens and Coeur d’Alene, my son and I saw USA flags flying upside down. A flag should never be displayed upside down unless trying to convey a sign of distress or great danger.

As a veteran, if you fly your flag upside down, it is a disgrace to our country and what my father and other veterans fought for. You may disagree with the election results, feel COVID-19 and other things are wrong, but if you feel distress or great danger then go live in a country where there is no voting and you have no freedoms.

You have the freedom to free speech and freedom of opinions thanks to our military. Please stop displaying the USA flag with no respect for those who fought for that flag. Our country may be far from perfect, but it is the best in the world!
