Read all about it: Auction puts newspapers in schools
The 18th annual Newspapers in Education silent auction is underway.
The fundraiser supports the program that provides free copies of The Press and teaching materials for Kootenai County classrooms. Students get a chance to read The Press each day to find out what’s happening locally and nationally, and might even see a photo of themselves in print or online.
“The Newspaper-in-Education program is a most worthy cause,” said Bill Bollinger, Press circulation director. “Very generous local businesses provide gift certificates, products and services that are included in the CDA Press NIE Silent Auction.”
To check out the auction offerings that number about 80, see The Press each day through Saturday. Items up for bid include a $100 gift certificate for Ziggy’s, two rounds of golf at The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course, two midweek ski passes to the Silver Mountain Resort and a one-hour family photo session with David Avery Photography.
To bid, call 208-664-0220 between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Winning bidders will be notified Monday, Nov. 23.
“The CDA Press is extremely happy to support our teachers and students,” Bollinger said.
